In recent times there has been an increase in the number of clients whose tax returns are investigated or disputed, regardless of their size and income status.

Defending clients in these circumstances is an area in which we have considerable expertise but the costs can be extensive as enquiries or disputes can drag on for many months. Even if no additional tax is found to be due, you or your business would be faced with additional fees incurred.

The frequency and complexity of enquiries has increased to such an extent that we feel it is now appropriate to offer our clients an alternative to these costs which can regularly amount to more than our annual charge. As such we have implemented a service, whereby we have insured our practice to cover your additional fees for up to £100,000 for the following events:

• A Self Assessment Enquiry or Repayment Claim by HM Revenue and Customs
• A review or intervention by HM and Customs concerning compliance with Self Assessment, PAYE, Social Security, Construction Industry, VAT or IR35 regulations
• VAT Disputes
• Employer Compliance Disputes (PAYE/P11D/P9D/NIC/IR35)

Please note that the cover can include not only your business, but also all directors or partners for their personal tax returns, as long as we complete their Tax Returns and they show no self employed income.
